My story withĀ alcohol . . .Ā  Ā Ā

Was I an alcoholic?

Honestly, I don't know—and I don't think that label matters.

Some people would say, "You didn't drink that much." Others might say, "Amanda, that was becoming a problem." What I know is this: alcohol was taking up far more space in my mind than I wanted it to. It was stealing my peace.

Maybe you can relate.

Like so many women, my relationship with alcohol began innocently. A few drinks with friends in high school became binge drinking in college. After graduation, alcohol remained the centerpiece of celebrations, girls' nights, work events, vacations, weddings, and eventually motherhood.

As life changed, so did my drinking. Happy hours became nightly wine. One glass often turned into two...or three. Before long, alcohol had woven itself into nearly every part of my life.

Then something unexpected happened.

I began following a few sober women on social media. At first, I couldn't imagine giving up alcohol. I simply watched from a distance, wondering how women who looked so much like me could live such full, joyful lives without it.

Looking back, I can see God's gentle hand at work and how He was planting seeds long before I was ready to change.

I found myself daydreaming about freedom. What would it feel like to wake up without regret? To stop negotiating with myself? To be fully present with my family? To experience the peace I knew God desired for me?

Those questions changed everything.

Ā

Everything began to change when I finally said "yes" to freedom.

As I learned more about alcohol and its effects on my mind and body, everything started to make sense. I knew, deep in my heart, that I was beingĀ invited into something better.

The journey wasn't easy. Letting go of alcohol felt like grieving a relationship I'd relied on for years. But through every step, God's grace met me there. Little by little, the cravings quieted, my mind cleared, and peace took their place.

Today, I wake up deeply grateful for this life—one filled with freedom, purpose, and the joy of being fully present.

And that's why I do this work.

If you're longing for that same peace, know this: you don't have to do it alone. Freedom is possible, and I'd be honored to walk alongside you as you discover the beautiful life God has been inviting you into all along.

Freedom isn't the end of your story—it's the beginning of the life you were created you to live.
